By

Peach vs. Fig

Mark your calendars: Next Wednesday, November 4, 7x7 has arranged what promises to be a very illuminating, interesting panel discussion—David Chang, of Momofuku fame, Momofuku cookbook co-author (and NY Times writer) Peter Meehan, Chris Cosentino and Meadowood chef Chris Kostow will discuss food, art and—well, who knows what else. It promises to be one hell of an evening at Café du Nord, beginning at 7 p.m. Best of all, it’s free—just RSVP to events@7x7.com with "Changtastic" in the subject line.

Switch Blade

Bob Kramer, former chef-turned-knife master (read the amazing New Yorker profile of him here) will be at Sur la Table in the Ferry Building on October 31 at 4 p.m.. Get ready to ask this cutlery master all of your geekiest questions about the art and craft of forged steel.

Sonoma Wine Supper

On November 4 Laïola will be serving a special wine dinner with Sonoma vineyard Audelssa (named “best Sonoma winery” by SFGate.com). The four-course menu, highlights of which include pork belly confit with persimmons and jamon-wrapped monkfish, will be complimented by delicious selections from Audelssa collection. The meal is $90 per person (including wine)—book your table by calling 415-346-5641 or emailing joe@laiola.com.

Where the Wild Things Are

It’s that time of year: The Big 4 is once ago hosting Wild Game Week from November 3-7. Sup on piranha, llama, emu, rattlesnack and more in the clubby, dark-wood-clad dining room—no hunting required. Book your table by calling 415-771-1140.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

If you’ve ever recovered from a hangover with a spicy Bloody Mary, consider yourself in good company. And then consider becoming a Facebook fan of the St. Regis hotel, which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of the drink throughout the month of November. Every 75th participant who becomes a fan will win brunch for two (with two Bloody Mary’s) at Vitrine, the hotel’s restaurant. Existing fans can enter to win by writing a 75-word love story to the beverage. You know you spend all day on Facebook anyway. Might as well win something!
