Ghost Walks, Day of the Dead, and bonfire sessions? Halloween is definitely approaching.
WALK
What: In association with San Francisco City Guides, tour guide Rob Spoor will offer his once-a-year, night time tour of San Francisco's historic City Hall this weekend. A group of eight or more will ditch mundane architecture jargon and instead hear stories of paranormal activity, assassinations, little-known facts, and more spooky information. The tour is free, but donations might put you in good graces with the ghosts.

1st Annual Marathon Reading of Moby Dick
What: Following in the footsteps of traditional reading marathons taking place in New York City, Mystic Seaport, CT, and New Bedford, MA, San Francisco is welcoming Herman Melville back to the Barbary Coast with a 24-hour reading of his iconic novel Moby Dick. Hear over 100 different readers and performers bring this famous work to life while enjoying food trucks, locally-brewed beer, and plenty of coffee to keep everyone energized. Interested in reading? What: JanSport Bonfire Sessions is returning to San Francisco to bring a night of live music, free beer, and s'mores galore. Enjoy music by Cathedrals, the She's, and Heartwatch while sipping on beer provided by Boulevard Brewing. Early birds will even be able to snag a limited edition silk screen poster. Admission is free, but an RSVP is required (do so here).
When: Saturday, October 24th. Doors open at 6pm and the shows start at 7pm. Make sure to get there early, admission isn't guaranteed.

FLAUNT
What: Presented by San Francisco Animal Care & Control, Pet Pride Day is a celebration of our animal companions. This free, all-day event will offer on-site adoptions, rescue partners, parades, pet costumes, pet tricks, food, and kids' activities. Who knows, you might leave with a new family member.

CELEBRATE
What: To honor passed loved ones and ancestors, the annual Dia de los Muertos celebration will feature performances by Aztec dancing troupe Cuauhtli Mitotiani Mexica, face painting, arts and craft stations, costume making, cooking demonstrations, and more. Bring in a photo or memory of a lost loved one and it will be added to the on site community altar. Donations such as marigolds, notes, fruits, and food are welcome.
