Jodi from Nida raved about the ultra luxe brands they carry on the regular at the Hayes Valley shop, especially Carven and Vanessa Bruno when to comes to serious coats. Carven's Two Tone Coat ($1800) has a classy cropped cut, with gray sleeves and a deep navy bodice. Vanessa Bruno's Perrine Coat ($1900) is on the more minimalist side, which means it's one you'll come back to season after season (especially in San Francisco!). For ladies who love truly classic pieces, head straight to Noe's new Mill Mercantile (brought to you by menswear outpost Unionmade). Store manager Michelle told us of the Gloverall duffel coats ($550) they have in stock currently–it's a decades-old brand from England who were the first to make toggle coats. The sturdy coats are wool, hooded, and come in four jewel tones as well as khaki. Another style you can't go wrong with is the Saint James navy pea coat ($645), made in France. Its timeless construction and thick wool make it something you'll never want to take off.

If you're looking for pieces with a little more quirk, the Mission's Mira Mira is the spot to shop. Tara helped us out with tips on To Be Adored's blinged-out Gitta Jacket, which is made of flashy, metallica gold leather with a lambswool collar ($396). Put this on and you will quite literally stop traffic. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Ace & Jig's Field Jacket ($244) is subtle but with enough flair to spice up an otherwise toned-down outfit.

Sean from Seedstore's girlfriend apparently has great taste, because he waxed poetic about her choice of coats from Bridge and Burn, a company out of Portland. You know they're serious about outerwear due to their Pacific Northwestern locale!
