Outside Lands Music Festival - Day One
The sun came out, the crowds were huge, and it wasn't as chilly as everyone expected. Here's a little taste of day one of Outside Lands.
A few highlights:
Zedd had everyone at the Twin Peaks stage bouncing and waving their hands in the air.
Comedian Jeffrey Ross got on stage in the Barbary to roast the hell out of San Francisco (and went on to make jokes about Glee's Cory Montieth's death and the Asiana Airlines flight crashing in SF...YIKES). Bob Saget and John Stamos joined Ross onstage towards the end, the audience sang a collective "Happy Birthday" to Uncle Jesse.
The Heavy played an upbeat show as the sun peeked through.
Bob Weir got on stage with The National and stayed upright.
CHIC and Nile Rodgers had the crowd of thousands at the Sutro Stage pulling dico moves they never knew they had with hits like "Freak Out!" and "Good Times."
A gracious Paul McCartney attracted hordes to his three hour set - girls screamed, tears were shed, sing-a-longs ensued, and mania set in akin to 50 years ago.
Pretty Lights took everyone on a rocket ship to the moon.
Big ups for the shrimp and grits from 1300 Fillmore, sweet potato tator tots with blackberry BBQ sauce from Straw, cheeseburger from 4505 Meats, and the sauvignon blanc from Long Meadow Ranch (outside of Wine Lands just to the right, no ticket needed!).
