Aquarius Records Celebrates Its 40th Birthday @ Cafe Du Nord
Any San Franciscan in the know would tell you Aquarius Records on Valencia Street has the best collection of music in the city. Need Japanese psychedelia? They've got it. African field recordings? Yep! Local indie? Of course!
The tiny shop, frequented by local and touring musicians, DJs and rabid record collectors alike, is celebrating its 40th birthday on Monday, October 25th with a blowout show at Cafe Du Nord featuring the current darlings of the California music scene, Best Coast, and local acts the Mantles, Lumerians and more. The show is recently sold out, so you might have to hit Craigslist for a spot on the floor. But if you don't make it, pay a visit to Aquarius' brick & mortar shop--you won't leave empty handed.
