Shawn and Josh met on a blind date in Manhattan in 2011. Together they enjoy food, wine, and traveling to new places – so, a destination wedding in Napa was the perfect combination of their passions.
About a year and a half into their relationship, Shawn and Josh took a week-long vacation to Sonoma and Napa valley and fell in love with the bike rides, beautiful scenery, delicious food, and of course the wine. The couple wanted to create a unique wedding experience – different from what their NYC-based guests were used to – by showcasing a brighter color palette and a farm-to-table food experience. The theme of the nuptials was based on the bride and groom's love for all of the beautiful lavender found in the valley, and the setting was very romantic with numerous shades of purple flowers.
Guests enjoyed ice tea and shaded themselves with parasols before the ceremony. During the cocktail hour, the band played jazz music while everyone feasted upon a raw bar, sushi station, cheese, and carving station. The night ended with a seated steak dinner and cake, before everyone danced the night away.
