As the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson once said, summer means happy times and having fun. And you've got to admit that the Beach Boys are summertime experts.
So when you're hunting for free fun this summer in Marin County, you don't have to look far—especially if you're in search of entertainment outdoors. For your summertime pleasure, we've rounded up a few free outdoor music events that will appeal to pretty much anyone.
Corte Madera Summer Sunday Concert Series
5pm to 6:30pm
Sundays, June 9 through Aug. 26
There's nothing quite like chilling out on a lazy Sunday evening in the summer and catching a concert in the great outdoors.—specially if the shows are free. Every year, the Corte Madera Community Foundation presents the Corte Madera Summer Sunday Concert Series at Piccolo Pavilion. This year's series features a melodious mix of R&B, soul, rock, West Coast blues, funk, and Americana–run.
Kanbar Performing Arts Center's Summer Nights Outdoor Music Festival
Saturdays, July 13 to August 3
Music lovers gather each summer at the Osher Marin JCC in San Rafael to enjoy plenty of ear candy. And there's a variety to be sampled at the Summer Nights Outdoor Music Festival. Concerts will feature a set of sounds from Afro-Cuban, New California Soul, American folk pop, to Latin big band genres. And concertgoers can do more than sit back and listen. Bring your picnic, blanket, low-backed lawn chairs, and dancing shoes because there's fun for the whole family.
Summer Concert Series 2019 at The Marin Art & Garden

Thursdays, June 20 to August 1
In its 13th year, Concert Series at The Marin Art & Garden Center promises to be a great time for all. Expect food trucks with amazing offerings for purchase to pair with concerts on the iconic gazebo lawn and grounds at MAGC.
