The perk (and danger) of working near Union Square is the instant access to some of the city’s best shopping. On any given lunch break, you can usually find me meandering in and out of the stores scoping out the latest merchandise en route to a café for a bite to eat. The other day I popped into Hermès, where they’re hosting an impressive jewelry trunk show through Wednesday for Pierre Hardy’s new Fall 2007 Enchainements collection. The Paris-based designer, who first began as Hermès creative director in 2001, has crafted some stunning pieces, priced between $650 and $250,000, which look fresh, but with a nod to the brand’s classic equestrian-themed icons (think bridle bit rings, carriage buckles and saddles). Here were some of my favorites:
