You have two more weeks to catch the insatiable Eye Candy designs courtesy of Bay Area artist Charlotte Kruk. Using discarded candy wrappers and cake mix boxes, among other indulgent materials, Kruk created wearable, gluttonous sculptures influenced by a consumer’s inclination to purchase based on flashy packaging, only to discard their initial allure to garbage later. Runs through Jan. 25, Dogpatch Café, 2295 Third St @ 20th. Open 7 am – 6 pm. Free.

The San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles commemorates its thirty-five year anniversary by showcasing its own historic quilts, recent acquisitions of contemporary fiber art, ethnic costumes, and textiles. Highlights include a quilt with humorous caraicatures of forty-two presidents and a never-before exhibited, oversized ritual dance costume from the Yoruba people of West Africa. Runs through Feb. 3, San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, 520 South First St.

Chicago’s Joffrey Ballet, renowned for presenting timeless classics as well as cutting-edge ballet, graces us with two compelling works plus a 20th-century controversy. Age of Innocence, inspired by the Jane Austen novel, depicts sexual tension and the desire for individualism in a repressed society. After the Rain features three sensual duets, and the closer classic, The Green Table, dramatizes the human impulse for destruction and the ever-presence of death. The Ballet’s appearance at Cal Performances is the first in over five years. Tickets $30-$92, buy here. Saturday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. Zellerbach Hall, UC Berkeley Campus, Bancroft Way @ Telegraph.
