Thousands gathered this weekend to celebrate the repoening of Dolores Park's north side after lengthy renovations over this past year. With a new and spacious lawn, improved restroom facilities, sports courts, and beautiful weather to boot, it's no surprise the park was hopping.
The city spent a whopping $8 million dollars on the redesign and construction of the park. The newest half of Dolores Park now boasts six acres of land for residents to sunbathe as well as 27 new restroom stalls—no more lines, hooray!
While some flocked to the park to simply enjoy the sun in time for Father's Day, others came for the silent disco on Thursday, which served as a kind of nontraditional dedication ceremony. Regardless of their motives for attending, the park's visitors and partygoers busted out some of that classic San Franciscan style for the occasion.
