Eat It: Tasty Resolutions

Craft Bar
The holidays have a way leaving little to be desired of stiff skinny jeans, which you may have already traded in for jeggings that stretch for expanding wastelines. Before you bid your denim adieu to Goodwill, learn how to upcycle old jeans into necklaces while you get a taste of jams and spreads from Stephanie Bushnell of Sweets La Petite at Etsy Lab's Craft Bar, Thursday, January 6, 6-9 p.m. Food and workshops take place at Museum of Craft and Folk, at 51 Yerba Buena Lane. Free with $5 admission to the museum.

Gourmet Detox

Just in time for New Year's resolutions, 18 Reasons Seasonal Food for Health workshop will focus on key foods and detox recipes based on Traditional Chinese medicine. For $35, the class includes herbal tea and warming bone broth tastings. Takes place 7-9 p.m. at 593 Guerrero St. Buy a ticket here.

First Bite of Boxing Room
Before the space at Gough and Grove was home to Citizen Cake (which moved up to Pac Heights last year), it was a factory packing room. Now executive chef Justin Simoneaux has moved in and turned it into Boxing Room, where you can try out his rustic Louisiana cuisine in a preview dinner on Monday, January 10. The $35 three-course menu includes seafood gumbo, roasted golden trout, and bananas Foster, with a portion of proceeds going to For the Bayou, a Louisiana wetlands restoration nonprofit. To make a reservation, call Boxing Room's sister restaurant, Absinthe (415-551-1590).

Wine and Yoga
Get your drink on after a free hourlong vinyasa class and wine tasting at the W hotel. Once out of savasana, sip wines from Long Meadow Ranch, refuel with farm-to-table bites from XYZ, and check out the complimentary mini treatments from Bliss Spa. You have to let them know you're coming by writing an RSVP on the W San Francisco Facebook page wall. The om's start at 6:30, on the fourth floor of 181 Third Street.
