La Sombra Juice Bar Opens in Oakland 

Those looking to get into juicing in the new year will be delighted to know that a new juice and smoothie bar has opened in downtown Oakland. The pop-up—which offers tasty juices with clever names such as El Vampiro (beet, carrot, celery, orange, and mint)—is open Tuesday through Friday from 8am-2:30pm inside of Oakland’s only Senegalese restaurant, Bissap Baobab. 381 15th Street, Oakland

Hot & Sour Indo-Chinese Ramen with Richie Nakano at Dosa 

Trade in your traditional ham this season for tasty noodles made by Hapa Ramen's Richie Nakano. He's teaming up with Dosa to ladle out Hot & Sour Indo-Chinese ramen ($18) from December 22-24 at the Valencia Street location. Hanukkah and Christmas Eve at Burritt Room + Tavern 

Celebrate the holidays the boozy way with Burritt Room + Tavern. Stop by any night of Hanukkah (through December 24) for a special menu of potato latke, matzo ball soup, potato knish, braised beef, pumpkin sufganiyot, and rugelach. On Christmas Eve (5-9pm), enjoy a festive three-course menu including goat cheese stuffed pasta, fried Brussels sprouts, Sonoma duck, and Christmas ham. Réveillon Menu at Gaspar Brasserie

Le Réveillon is a traditional French celebration after midnight mass on Christmas Eve. At Gaspar, however, they're extending the feast until the end of the month. The three-course lunch menu ($45) includes smoked salmon mille crêpes, duck confit (with Lyonnaise potatoes, poached hen egg, frisée, bacon-sherry vinaigrette), Valrhona chocolate mousse and, of course, a glass of  bubbles. 185 Sutter
