Lots of folks come to Tahoe to simply chill. But if you want to add a little zest to your getaway, check out the Adventure Sports Week, which returns to the north shore of Big Blue from June 15-24.
The centerpiece of the 10-day celebration is the series of competitions -- which includes trail running, mountain biking, stand-up paddle-boarding, triathlons and swimming -- that are geared for both the seasoned professional and the beginning weekend warrior.
But Adventure Sports Week isn't all about seeing who's best at what activity. TYou can also check out clinics hosted by top athletes, music and film festivals and more. There will even be a classic car stroll (June 21) and a wine walk (June 23), both in Tahoe City.
"This is for those who appreciate clean air, clear water, scenic single track and an elevated heart rate," said event director Todd Jackson. "We live in one of the world's top outdoor playgrounds and it's time to celebrate out passion for adventure."
