Nonbinary fashion label And Our debuts in SF + more local style news

By

File under gender-neutral fashion scoop: This week, San Francisco based creator of Bob Cut magazine Anthony Rogers announced the launch of his new nonbinary fashion label, And Our. The pieces, which he calls "anywear," are designed for anyone who like ruffles aplenty.

Plus, American Giant has teamed up with Samual Adams for a fully patriotic clothing collab, and Oaktown's McMullen boutique wants to send you fresh goodies via snail mail. Happy shopping!

Your mailbox wardrobe is about to get a whole lot more fashion-y thanks to the McMullen Goodie Box. Courtesy of style star Sherri McMullen and the team at her beloved namesake Oakland boutique, the new subscription-box service is 100 percent designed for you. All you have to do to get your curated looks (and exclusive McMullen goodies!): Book a virtual consultation, share your loves, hates, color and brand preferences and, voila, wait for your treats to arrive. You keep what works, return the rest, and dunzo. Translation: You'll be elegantly cool in a no-time flat…no schlepping required. The boxes are available for a one-time purchase or as an ongoing subscription that can be canceled or paused any time. Meow!

New nonbinary fashion line And Our debuts.

Congrats to SF-based Bob Cut Mag founder Anthony Rogers on his new venture, And Our. Launched this week, the "anywear" unigender and size-inclusive line features 18 pieces. The opposite of fast fashion, the debut collection's nine tops and nine bottoms are all crafted from deadstock fabric and made ethically in China, adhering to strict manufacturing codes of conduct. The styles include everything from a ruffles-gone-mad tube top to garment-worker-inspired skirt slacks.

Nonbinary artist/entrepreneur Rogers wasn't sure what, if anything, would come after winning a scholarship to—and graduating from—the Business Class by Sophia Amoruso. Needless to say, he's beyond thrilled with the result. "Being able to express my humanity through garments is empowering as a nonbinary person. I started this label to give people tools for expression through gender-undefined clothing. 'Anywear' is meant for those who want megaphones for dressing in what showcases them best, in whatever gender they assume," Rogers explains.

Cheers to this patriotic collab: Sam Adams x American Giant

We can't think of a better way to kick off the official start to American summer than with a collaboration between American Giant and Samuel Adams. It includes a limited-release lager made with domestically sourced hops and a limited-edition USA-made apparel collection. Sure, gathering with friends and family is always worthy of celebration, but it's truer than ever in 2021 (talk to the hand, Covid). With innovation and creativity core to both brands, it's not surprising that AG and SA got together—bringing us the perfect brew, tee, and classic hoodies.

"American Giant and Samuel Adams are all about two things: quality and values—simple as that. Using the highest quality ingredients is of the utmost importance, whether for a classic sweatshirt that can be passed down for generations or a carefully crafted beer. We're proud to work with Samuel Adams, a company that shares our commitment to quality and craft," says Bayard Winthrop, CEO/founder of American Giant.

The beer and apparel are available at American Giant shops and Sam Adams taprooms. The tee is $38 and the hoodie is $118; American Crafted lager is $16 for a four-pack of 16-oz. cans.

// Shop locally at American Giant, 1801 Fourth St. (Berkeley) and 2076 Chestnut St. and 165 Natoma St. in SF, and online at american-giant.com and samueladams.com.
