Squaw Valley's Last Chair Music Festival Returns

By

In a New Year's celebration of music, culture and community, Squaw Valley's Last Chair Festival will be held January 9-11, 2014 and will feature a line up that includes Matisyahu, The Flaming Lips, Jurassic 5 and the West Water Outlaws, cultural seminars and three days of skiing on Squaw's epic slopes.

This is the second year of the event and the eclectic mix of events of last year's event attracted visitors from all over the area. For the 2014 festival, ticket holders will also be able to go to concerts held by Mayer Hawthorne, Random Rab, Chali 2na (and the House of Vibe), Ben Rector and Tennis.

“The inaugural Last Chair Music Festival last January was a great success, but this year we really wanted to blow it out of the water,” said Sean Kristl, marketing manager for Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. “For 2014, we’ve brought in bigger acts and added a lineup of cultural seminars, workshops, after–parties, and incredible lift ticket packages.”

Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows joined forces in November 2011, bringing the two ski resorts under common ownership. Skiers and riders can access 6,000 skiable acres, 42 lifts and 270+ trails at Squaw and Alpine Meadows on one lift ticket or season pass. The tickets for the Last Chair event start with single day ski and music tickets for $45 or you can get the Music + Lift Ticket Combo Pass which includes three days of skiing and two nights of music for $250. The early bird ticket prices end December 17, 2013 (that's today!).
