Mats meet the mountains when that traveling yoga-cum-music-fest known as Wanderlust sets up camp this weekend in Squaw Valley.
Beginning on Thursday and running until Sunday, July 29, the four-day event, which already has had stops in Vermont and Colorado this summer, features some of the world's top yogis, including Seane Corn, Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste, Jonny Kest, Baxter Bell, Wayne Dyer and Gurmukh Kau Khalsa, who will be leading classes and talks in an Alpine setting.
Also on the festival docket is a series of musical interludes, with Ziggy Marley, Beats Antique, MC Yogi, Shaman's Dream and Quixotic topping the playbill.
Other festival diversions include a three-hour rafting trip down the Truckee River with Shiva Rea; a healing sanctuary that offers services from some of the nation's most talented healers; a Farm to Table dining experience; the Kula Market that showcases a selection of yoga props, products and apparel, and the Soulful Cinema, a full-length film program exploring the essence and contemporary interpretations of spirituality.
There will also be a children's program – Wunderkind – that offers an opportunity for kids 4-10 to have their own, specific Wanderlust experience.
