Although their romance didn't officially begin until after college, Jennifer has had a crush on Leo since 1st grade.
In elementary school, Jennifer and Leo hung out in two different crowds, and Jennifer was heartbroken was she overheard Leo teasing her. Years later, they ran into each other at a bar, and he apologized for being a 6-year-old jerk. Leo asked her out to dinner, and her crush on him blossomed anew.
Their sunny Livermore wedding featured a simple and modern aesthetic. The couple opted for an afternoon soiree rather than an evening event since they wanted lots of sunshine during their big day. The entire wedding was outdoors on a beautiful lawn at Wente Vineyards. There were lawn games (croquet, cornhole, bocce ball) and a bubble machine for guests to enjoy during the reception.
In honor of the groom's Japanese heritage the couple included the 1,000-crane tradition, displaying the paper birds behind the cake. Instead of doing it themselves, however, they asked their guests to make the paper cranes, so that each person had a tangible part of the presentation. The result was striking and beautiful. That wasn't the only DIY aspect of their nuptials. The couple made the colorful and fun ceremony arch display, and the bride's mom put together all the flowers including bouquets, centerpieces, and boutonnieres. Jennifer made all the print displays and invitations.
The wedding was truly a fun and sophisticated affair, culminating in the moment that the newlyweds made their grand entrance to the theme song of "Game of Thrones." Marriage is a battle, right?
