1) Press Club

San Francisco’s favorite wine bar and lounge will ring in 2014 with a dance party and ball drop with live coverage of New Year’s Eve festivities around the country.  Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé upon entry and another glass of wine or beer during the evening, free of charge.  A limited menu of delicious, light bites and additional wines will also be made available.  Tickets are $75 in advance; $100 at the door. Tickets are available online. 20 Yerba Buena Lane

2) El Rio

The Mission District’s favorite gay bar, El Rio, is hosting a Queer New Year’s Eve party with complimentary champagne at midnight. Starting at 8pm, they’ll be serving up gumbo, burgers, and spicy Latin beats. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple, with priority entrance. Presale tickets are available online. 3158 Mission Street

3) Hi Lo BBQ

Hi Lo BBQ is going whole hog (quite literally) and ringing in 2014 with a New Year’s Eve Pig Roast and Open Bar. Revelers can get down and festively dirty in the Mission with a whole roasted pig dinner and barbecue fixin's from Rising Star Chef Robin Song while indulging in barman Saul Ranella’s cocktails at the all night open bar. A DJ and dance floor will keep the good times rolling as it gets closer to midnight and mezzanine makeouts. Tickets: $90, available online. 3416 19th Street

4) Canela Bistro & Wine Bar

On New Year's Eve, Executive Chef Mat Schuster and the team at Canela will be offering two seatings starting at 6:00pm. The evenings menu includes Amuse of Angulas (Spanish Baby Eels), Dungeness Crab Bisque, Soft Egg with Truffle, Seared Sea Bass with Chantrelles, Roasted Duck Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Roasted Lamb with Baby Vegetables and Tempranillo Reduction, a Trio of Garnacha Poached Pears and other items. Each reservation ($90/person)  includes a complimentary glass of Cava. Make reservations online. 2272 Market Street

5) Stock in Trade

Marina-based Stock in Trade is hosting a Speakeasy-themed New Year’s Eve party from 8pm to 2am with an open bar and music. Bar choices include Ketel One, Hendricks, Patron, Fireball, wine, and 12 beers on tap. Chef Jake Kwan-Rosenbush will provide heavy appetizers, including mushroom goat cheese tart, street tacos, and a slider bar with three types of meat. Purchase tickets online for $125/person. 2036 Lombard Street

6) Cafe Pescatore

Located on the edge of Fisherman’s Wharf and historic North Beach, is a convenient place to have a drink before heading down the Embarcadero for the New Year’s Eve fireworks. While you may not be able to watch the ball drop in Times Square, you can metaphorically make their way to the Big Apple with a Manhattan Bound cocktail for $13, made with buffalo trace bourbon, carpano antica, angostura bitters, and brandied cherries. 2455 Mason Street

7) E&O Asian Kitchen

Located in San Francisco’s vibrant Union Square, E&O Asian Kitchen is centrally located and another good place to begin a New Year’s Eve out on the town. Start the night off with some fireworks in the form of a cocktail. The Chinatown Sparkler - made with cava, strawberry shrub and bitters - is available for just $10. 314 Sutter Street
