Barry McGee at BAM A fantastic retrospective of Bay Area artist Barry McGee’s (aka “Twist”) work is taking over the Berkeley Art Museum this month. Bringing together everything from McGee’s hobo-esque letterpress murals and big, sad faces to the graffiti’d “SNITCH” over the museum’s façade, the exhibit provides a comprehensive look at one of the Bay Area’s most interesting artists.
Front Porch Music Festival at Wente Vineyard The finale of the Front Porch Music Series at Wente Vineyards is coming up this Saturday, featuring performances from indie bands The Mountain Goats and The Dodos, along with Karl Wente’s own band. Named "American Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, Wente also recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of bringing Chardonnay cuttings from Montpelier, France to Livermore, California. In addition to the music, the festival, which runs from 3 to 9 pm, will feature snacks from local food vendors and wine tasting, naturally.
