Penny, an undeniably cool loafer-clog hybrid, is ready for her close-up—and a prime spot in your closet.

Plus, Hanna Andersson invites you to Mill Valley for a day of real-life back-to-school shopping. And Hindsgaul, a new haircare line with main-character energy, is here to lift the weight off your shoulders.

Facts: Clogs have been heating up the shoe scene all summer long. And the backless wonders are poised to continue their reign as fall approaches. Congrats to Rothy’s for introducing the Penny Clog ($160) at just the right time. Comfortable and cool as all get out, Penny is sort of like the cruffin of footwear (RIP, Mr. Holmes Bakehouse)—a delicious hybrid that’s loafer in the front and clog in the back.

Penny comes in two fabrications: the brand’s signature knit and plush ReVelvet, both made entirely of plastic water bottles, and in five colorways. Hands (or feet) down, though, the brown-and-cream cow print (ReVelvet Rodeo Torte) is the standout. Rothy’s disciples and in-the-know content creators have already been seen running around town—and all over Instagram—in the statement-makers.

Those who prefer their shoes a little quieter can’t go wrong with the navy, portobello, dove, or bistro brown shades. Each pair is machine washable, features a super supportive footbed, and requires no break-in time.

We suggest milking these clogs well into winter; no doubt, Penny will look pretty great with socks.

Hindsgaul is one hairy situation you’ll definitely want to get into.

A brand-new haircare line has entered the chat—and the Credo store on Fillmore. Meet Hindsgaul Hair, the brainchild-slash-namesake of Sarah Hindsgaul. At its heart, the line is all about a minimalist regimen; weightless, healthy hair; and lived-in glamour.

As an Emmy Award-nominated hair designer who’s worked in film and television for more than 20 years, Hindsgaul has some serious bona fides. (Her most recent gig: tending to the tresses of the Stranger Things cast.)

Like many a wonderful invention, Hindsgaul Hair was born out of necessity, explains its founder: “I created this clean, weightless haircare line because I could never find anything lightweight enough for my own fine hair. It’s for anyone who can’t do heavy oils but still wants to use clean haircare, and have volume and movement without weighing the hair down.”

The color-safe collection includes five products: The Puff Dry Shampoo ($32), The Mousse ($38), The Scalp Scrub Shampoo ($54), The Mask Conditioner ($58), and The Cream ($42). Each is packed with peptides and nourishing ingredients, including Nordic cotton and cloudberry from Sarah’s native Denmark.

As for the formulations, Hindsgaul collaborated with Liis fragrance cofounders Leslie Hendin and Alissa Sullivan. This totally tracks, as the products’ subtle scents are divine.

P.S. In other Liis news, the brand recently released Flower Glyph (the honeysuckle of it all!), created with French perfumers Jean-Claude Ellena—known for his groundbreaking work for Hermès and Frederic Malle—and his daughter Céline Ellena.
