Even though Maverick recently suffered a rotten fire, their brunch must go on! Their brunch service is popping up at sister restaurant Hi Lo for the next two weekends (December 7–8 and 14–15) from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. You can get some egg dishes (the Benedict features house-cured and braised bacon), their classic fried chicken, and there’s now the bonus of cocktails too. Russian Hill denizens have a new brunch option to add to their lineup, since this recently opened neighborhood spot is now serving brunch on Sundays from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.. The menu changes seasonally; current options include butternut squash and duck confit hash, soft-scrambled eggs, brioche pain perdu, and some lunchy items too. This is a reminder to visit the stylish pop-up Kiwi restaurant before it closes up shop for good on New Year’s Day. The menu features some Kiwi breakfast picks like apple wood bacon, lamb sausages, homemade baked beans, hash browns, mushrooms, spinach, and poached free-range eggs, and $6 bloody Marys and Bellinis—the MOA breakfast beer is another good move.
