Coco500's batter for their fried green beans makes enough for 20 servings. The batter lasts for up to two days in the fridge, so you can dip and fry as many or as few beans as you like at a time.
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups cornstarch
3-4 Anchor Steam beers
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon salt
1/2 cup baking powder
Canola oil for frying
Blue Lake green beans
Kosher salt to taste
1. In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, beer, eggs, cayenne, balsamic vinegar, salt, and baking powder until very smooth. You may need to add a bit more flour if it seems thin. You want it thick like pancake batter.
2. In a cast-iron pan, heat two inches of vegetable oil until it reaches 375 degrees. In batches, coat the beans in the batter and then fry until golden brown. To serve, toss beans with a pinch of kosher salt.
