Layer Smartly: An App for San Francisco's Microclimates
The go-to advice in this city is always "to layer," which isn't all that helpful when it's 75 degrees and sunny in the Mission and a chilly fog pit in Cole Valley. A new android app tackles these tricky microclimates, telling you exactly how hot/cold/foggy/sunny it is across this 7 mile by 7 mile city of ours (yes, that's where 7x7's name comes from). Powered by Weather Underground and created by R/GA San Francisco, SF Weather provides real-time and next day conditions and forecasts in 18 different neighborhoods. They're only on Android for now, so Android users (sadly, 7x7 HQ is without one), tell us what you think (it's free). They could be rolling it out to iPhones (with a real-time fog overlay feature) soon if there's enough interest. Download it here.

I would pay for an app for S Fs microclimates, both on my iPhone and iPad! I vote yes, email me when it comes in!
Another vote for an iphone version.
would love to have this app on my iphone!
Another vote for iPhone version!
Is there a more effective way to get our iPhone request for this app to the actual creators? I'm just like everyone else here - would love this for the iPhone and, given how many of us there are in the Bay Area, would imagine there's plenty of users that would be highly interested. Thanks, whoever you are, in advance (btw, I looked on R/GA's website and couldn't find any mention of it! ??
Finally an app that works in SF! Since it's a droid app it works most places cause AT&T doesn't.
YES ... would have it for my iPhone
Please launch it for iPhone, PLEASE!!!
Would love that for my iPhone! How useful!!
iPhone version please.
Sounds fantastic... Please do develop the app for the iPhone!!! I'll buy it for sure, as will my husband and daughter and her boyfriend... and so on...
iPhone please, would take off all my layers for it
This is awesome!!!
It works GREAT. It's smooth and looks really nice. And each neighborhood has a little icon associated with it: Richmond is a bowl of noodles, SOMA is the Bay Bridge, Sunset is a windmill.
OMG, totally WANT. But I have an iPhone. Must alert my one droid friend.
Please, iPhone version. I would pay for it.
