Apple to Announce New Products on Sept. 1st @ Yerba Buena Center

By

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, turtleneck fan Steve Jobs and the Apple gang are getting ready for a big reveal on Wednesday, September 1st at Yerba Buena Center, and speculations are flying.

Tech blogs are unanimously abuzz with the prospect of a revamped iPod touch with forward facing cameras for FaceTime capabilities and crisp retina display. Given that this annual September hullabaloo traditionally centers around iPods in general, other possibilities include adding a still camera or Wi-Fi to their bestselling iPod nano or getting rid of the iPod classic. Having acquired Lala earlier this year, some Apple geeks and music nerds think and hope that a music streaming service is imminent.

Others think a smaller, 7-inch iPad is in the works--the iPad version of the iPod nano. If Apple does release a smaller, less expensive iPad, they'll have to endure the ire of current iPad owners for doing it so soon.

Many hope Apple TV will get some tender loving care to save it from obsoletion and Google TV by adding a cloud storage component and streaming. But since you can't fit Apple TV in a Christmas stocking, that's pretty unlikely.
