Last season we all experienced glory of baseball's finest caliber thanks to our hometown heroes the SF Giants. Now many of our city's most defining sports history moments are immortalized at the George Krevsky Gallery -- from the cool-under-fire concentration of Buster Posey to the angelic pitching stance of Madison Bumgarner to renderings of their epic victory parade last November.
Now in its 14th year, the show sprawls across all mediums and showcases baseball greats beyond our current orange-and-black-clad boys (Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle and other legends make cameos). The pieces capture both the kinetic mayhem of baseball as well as the sports' emotionally-fraught downtime, along with the ecstasy of victory and the pain of loss, making The Fine Art of Baseball an exhibition that encompasses every facet of America's greatest pastime.
The show is running now through May 28, so stop by before you cheer the Giants on at this Friday's home game against the St. Louis Cardinals!
George Krevsky Gallery, 77 Geary St., open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am-5:30 pm. 415-397-9748.
