Club Music Maestro Juan MacLean DJing Public Works Saturday

Purveyors of groundbreaking, intelligent dance music like LCD Soundsystem, Hercules & Love Affair and YACHT, DFA Records knows how to get the party started, and house DJ Juan MacLean is no exception. If you're looking to get your sweat on this weekend, look no further than the club maestro's set at Public Works this Saturday, the 22nd.

Juan MacLean's had quite a time behind the turntables lately. Last year he scored two international electro hits with the synthy-poppy onslaught of "Happy House" and the rippling, twisting "The Simple Life" that never loses its momentum despite clocking in at almost 9 minutes. He's also known for his remixes of heavyweights like Air, Daft Punk and Matthew Dear. Be on the look out for the euphoric grooves from his latest album DJ-Kicks (K7), a love letter to classic, kinetic house music that'll guarantee you a hungover Sunday.

DJs Conor and Vin Sol open with a tag team set starting at 10 pm, plus after hours dance sets by Jason Kendig of Honey Soundsystem. Grab tickets for $12 here.

Public Works, 161 Erie St., (415) 932-0955
