This is a photo of my third favorite creation of Mexico, after tequila and the taco.
A Michelada
It's called the Michelada, which literally means "my little cool one." It's a Mexican beer that has been spiced up with Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and a proprietary blend of spices that could be like garlic or onion powder, cayenne, black pepper, or whatever. Popular throughout coastal Mexico, there aren't many places where you can find them. I know that Tommy's and Dona Tomas in Oakland both offer them (I prefer the latter).
But this picture-perfect version is from the Hungry Cat in Hollywood, where I visited last week for the dedication of my star on the walk of fame. OK, kidding.
