This one bedroom Presidio Heights apartment was a lovely surprise to find this week, not only because of its fabulous location and excellent price, but also because we've actually seen a unit in this building before so we can give you the real inside scoop without just blindly trusting the Craigslist ad (believe or not, some people stretch the truth on there). Located in the middle of tony Presidio Heights, the building is steps away from neighborhood shops and entertainment (the Vogue Theater is around the corner) close to buses (the 43 will take you right to your door), and about three blocks from the meandering trails and rolling green hills of the Presidio. The unit's bedroom may be a bit on the small side (we're not talking Manhattan-like small, just probably wouldn't fit a king-size bed) but the view from the living room truly makes the space, with sweeping, unobstructed views of downtown. Priced at $1695 a month, the apartment is quite a find for the area and will no doubt be swept up by someone quickly. The one negative we'd note is that there's no elevator and the twisting staircase could make it difficult to move into this top-floor unit, but hey, once you're in you'll be golden, and you're guaranteed a nice little daily workout on those steps.
