Generation Beauty Hits Fort Mason

Serious beauty junkies and Michelle Phan fanatics, you're going to want to check out Fort Mason this weekend. Porquoi? Beauty subscription box and digital community Ipsy is hosting Gen Beauty on Saturday and Sunday, July 29 and 30, at the Festival Pavilion. What to expect: More than 35 brands—CoverGirl and MAC Cosmetics to Ciaté London and local faves theBalm and Benefit—and 400-plus beauty influencers (including Phan), tips, demos, beauty swag and more. Two-day passes are available for $169. A pretty penny, to be sure, but that does a include a glam bag filled with makeup, haircare and skincare products valued at more than $200. // Saturday 11am to 5pm; Sunday 11am to 3pm. 2 Marina Blvd. (Marina), genbeauty.com

The Sample Sale

As far as we're concerned, every Saturday is made for shopping. But this Saturday, July 29, is extra-special as Cuyana, masters of sophisticated basics and SF It Totes, is hosting a sample sale at The Lab in the Mission. (Be prepared for Freda-level queues.) Previous seasons' bags, accessories and clothing are on the menu with prices starting at $25. Umm, that'll work. // 8:30am to 3:30pm, 2948 16th St. (Mission), cuyana.com

Timbuk2 Drops New Women's Collection

Timbuk2's new women's collection (née On-the-Go) checks three major boxes— function, fashion and born to bike. We'd expect nothing less from the premium line designed by women for women. The five pieces come in a range of sizes and silhouettes, and are notable for sophisticated touches like metallic zippers and pop patterns. Lots of pockets, padded straps, internal drawstrings and other meticulous details for which the label is known are also part of every package. Right now, we're all about the chic Jet Black Drift Knapsack ($129), an everyday pack that will clearly get the job done. Along with the Drift, the Adapt Crossbody and Parcel Tote are available now; the Recruit Pack and Unit Duffel will debut in August. (Yes, just in time for back to school.) // Shop online and in stores, timbuk2.com

Tie One on (for the Animals)

Here's the dealio: One-woman show, local maker and animal-lover Cristina Rose Guízar and her scarf label Centinelle is launching a month-long Instagram campaign #putascarfonit on Tuesday, August 8. Simply post a photo with one of its colorful scarves (and, obvi, the hashtag) and Guízar will donate $1 to the SF SPCA. Not a scarf person? We're betting these high-quality silk beauties in cheeky designs (i.e. dancing, tutu-wearing cats and retro Mexican pin-ups) will change that. The accessories come in several sizes and range in price from $50 for cotton-silk bandanas to $110 for large silk squares. Do it for the kitties. // Shop online, centinelle.com
