Fall Cocktails to Find (and Drink Up) in SF

By

Keep warm this fall with eight seasonal cocktails from some of the city's most renowned bartenders.

Pear, Lime, & Gin Cocktail, AQ SF

AQ's Brian Felley created the "Harvest Moon," for his fall menu (pictured above). Homemade pear liquour adds a delightful viscosity to this drink, and when mixed with gin, it warms and refreshes at the same time. Not only is it seasonal, but it has a weight and richness that's a pleasure to drink. Plus, absinthe and lime add a surprising edge. 1085 Mission Street

Bourbon & Pumpkin Cocktail, 15 Romolo

15 Romolo's Ian Adams shares an autumn classic: bourbon, lemon, and homemade spiced pumpkin compote. The perfect "adult" take on a pumpkin spice latte, the "Suckerpunch" is the ideal sipper this season. 15 Romolo Place

Mezcal & Port Ice Cocktail, Burritt Room

Burritt Room's Josh Trabulsi shares his favorite fall drink: smoky mezcal sweetened with Lillet over bitter port ice. As it melts from clear to garnet, you'll see why he calls it the Chameleon. Drink and enjoy! 417 Stockton Street

 Chartreuse & Rosemary-Honey Drink, 15 Romolo

15 Romolo's Ian Adams shares his favorite seasonal cocktail: The Emerald Tablet. Warming, herbaceous chartreuse, frothy egg whites, and rosemary honey are an interesting take on something to drink this fall. 15 Romolo Place

Asian Pear & Tequila Cocktail, Third Rail

Third Rail SF's Jeff Lyon on how to make a fall-inspired cocktail, the "Harvest Moon," with seasonal Asian pear puree, warming star anise, and surprisingly, tequila. Garnish with a whole star anise. Sip. Be merry. 628 20th Street

Scotch & Oat-Infused Honey Cocktail, AQ SF

AQ SF's Brian Felley shares a slightly smoky, slightly sweet cocktail, finished with dry white wine perfect for autumn. Toss back the "Needle in the Hay" for big toasted flavors. 1085 Mission Street

Scotch & Apple Cider Cocktail, Third Rail

Third Rail's Jeff Lyon shares his favorite fall cocktail, the Loch Ness, with smoky scotch (hence the name), unfiltered apple cider, lemon juice for brightness, and freshly grated cinnamon for warmth. Serve. Drink. Enjoy! 628 20th Street

Smoked Cherry & Rye Cocktail, Trick Dog

Award-winning bartender Caitlin Laman serves up this fall favorite when the air gets chilly. The Fugazi Bank, with smoked cherry bitters and rye whiskey, is warming and balanced, with just a dash of sweetness and a hint of smoky fruit. Everything about this cocktail begs to be sipped on next to a warm fireplace. 3010 20th Street
