A CLAM BAKE IN OAKLAND

Homestead Restaurant in Oakland is celebrating their second anniversary with a special Clam Bake that will be available on August 8 from 4:30 to 8:30pm only! Priced at $52.00 per person, the menu will include a Little Gem salad with green goddess dressing, avocado, radish and chervil; a clam bake with halibut, clams, mussels, crayfish and shrimp; garlic and chile sausage; fennel butterball potatoes; corn on the cob and summer squash; sourdough garlic toast; Parker House rolls with house butter; and Fluffernutter birthday cake. Come hungry. // 4029 Piedmont Ave, Oakland, homesteadoakland.com

BREAKING BREAD

La Brea Bakery is headed to San Francisco from August 7 through 9 as part of the official "Breaking Bread" tour. San Franciscans can taste a variety of La Brea Bakery breads and recipes from the Breaking Bread Tour food truck, such as the delicious seedless raspberry jam and almond butter on a French baguette and the savory salami and sharp cheddar cheese on rosemary olive oil bread. // See where they're headed at breakingbreadtour.com

NATIONAL BOWLING DAY

Yes, we know, there's a "national day" for everything. But in case you feel like hitting the lanes this weekend, Plank will celebrate National Bowling Day with $2 games (regularly $5.50) and $2 shoe rentals (regularly $4.50) all day on Saturday, August 8. Show up anytime between 9 and 11am to bowl, and while you're there, you might as well sip on a signature “bloody plank” to start the weekend off right. // 98 Broadway, Oakland, plankoakland.com

PETIT CRENN

Dominique Crenn, chef and owner of Michelin-starred Atelier Crenn, has announced the opening date of sequel establishment Petit Crenn: August 11. Head to Hayes Street next week to find a casual, all-day café with Stumptown coffee plus a breakfast and lunch full of pastries and omelettes. The centerpiece, though, is a five-course seafood-focused prix-fixe dinner at just over $70 per person. // 609 Hayes St., San Francisco, petitcrenn.com
