Wedding Inspiration: It was all pie and roses at Lake Tahoe's Aspen Grove

Texans Rebecca Childers and Matt Grussendorf met at Lake Tahoe, so it felt fitting to them to return lakeside for their big day—and what more could a couple want beyond a stunning grove of trees, a beach for photo ops, and snow-capped mountains in the distance?

The two rented a waterfront house where the bridal party got ready upstairs; meanwhile in the kitchen, the groom and his buddies drank whiskey. They wanted to keep it "chill," with an emphasis on spending time with friends and family.

After some photos and a shot of whiskey for all, the group took off to Incline Village's Aspen Grove, named for its charming wooded setting on Third Creek—if guests looked closely, they would see the initials of couples who'd wed here before carved into the trees.

Childers—dressed in a tiered, flowing gown and glittery sandals—passed over a path of rose petals to meet her hubby-to-be at the rustic wedding arch trimmed with white linens and eucalyptus. There her bridesmaids waited, wearing blush-hued, floor-length dresses with gilded touches (a special sequined number was saved for her maid of honor), each carrying a bundle of ivory roses with eucalyptus to match the groomsmen's boutonnieres. The lovebirds said their vows and then made their way back up the aisle to the sound of Stevie Wonder.

Taking advantage of the last bit of light, they captured their first moments as husband and wife on film down by the water before it was back to the grove, now aglow with paper lanterns, string lights, and candles, for dancing and pie.
