Dogs get dirty. That’s what they do. And that’s eco-friendly pet boutique, pet wash and full service pet salon Green Pawz’ mantra. Located in the Haight and conveniently near dog friendly Golden Gate Park, owner Julianne Morales Walsh keeps things local by formulating her own grooming products in Marin and sourcing homegrown organic pet food and treats.
San Francisco Green Certified, Green Pawz opened in 2010 offering a unique service for pet owners looking to extend an organic way of living to their furry loved ones. All products are free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, harsh chemicals and irritating sulfates. The most popular product is the Green Pawz dog shampoo, conditioner and grooming spray, which are used in the grooming facility.
From Fort Funston to Crissy Field to the city’s numerous parks, full service dog grooming is booming. Green Pawz offers self serve grooming, full service grooming by appointment and have bath specials on Sundays and Mondays that include a basic bath, blow dry, brush, nail trim, ear cleaning and expression.

Julianne worked in the natural/organics product industry for years and has a rather shaggy dog named Frida Kahlo who requires habitual grooming. As Julianne puts it, “Green Pawz was the logical solution for integrating my passion for healthy, happy pets with my goal for greener living.”
Green Pawz also serves as an excellent resource for local adoption and dog organizations, veterinarians, dog friendly restaurants and cafes and off-leash dog parks. Mountain Lake dog park and Zazie Cafe are a couple of Julianne and Frida’s favorites; they hit up Zazie’s for Monday night ‘dog night’ where they dine on the patio together and Frida scores leftovers.
Up next for Green Pawz: A line of collars and leashes made from recycled materials, locally sourced of course.
