Scenes of Solidarity Around the Bay Area: Peaceful Protesters Seek Justice for George Floyd

By

On Wednesday, an estimated 30,000 people, mostly wearing masks, gathered at Mission Dolores Park for a student-led solidarity march from Mission High School to the Mission Police Department. A large painting of George Floyd's face led the way for what was one of the largest peaceful assemblies we've seen in a week of demonstrations demanding racial justice. Meanwhile, over in Oakland, Ayesha and Steph Curry joined more marchers at Lake Merritt.

Supplies including masks, water bottles, and snacks were handed out to crowds by volunteers and area businesses including Prairie restaurant in the Mission. Now flooding Instagram, the photos say it all—black, brown, white, women, men, children, doctors, artists, athletes, celebrities—the Bay Area is unified in the cause of justice and reform for our black community.

We are keeping a running list of resources for how to get involved; please share your recommendations with us on Facebook or Instagram.
