Every day, millions of Americans bend down, scoop up something warm and unpleasant, and walk it to the nearest trash can.
Smolotov just makes it a little more meaningful.
Their dog waste bags printed with the faces of the individuals currently wrecking the republic are for people who read the news and need somewhere to put their feelings. Your dog makes the deposit, you make the statement—the trash can handles the rest.
It's like performance art you carry in your pocket; a protest you can do on a leash, twice a day, rain or shine. It won't fix democracy, but it's more satisfying than yelling at a cable news anchor, and at least something gets cleaned up.

Smolotov was founded in Berkeley in 2025 by Stefan Schuch and Kevin Tiell, two veteran designers who spent years at Apple making beautiful things people wanted to keep. Now they make beautiful things people want to throw away. They tested prototypes at East Bay dog parks, where the dogs—natural anarchists all—signed off without hesitation. At 23,000 orders and counting, the joke is holding up fine.
Under the satire it's a serious product. The bags are made at a certified fair-trade, BSCI-compliant manufacturer from compostable PBAT, PLA, and corn starch so they break down faster than most campaign promises. Every bag gets the same obsessive care the founders once gave to product launches: They're thick, leak-resistant, and ship in tidy 60-bag boxes, because nobody's political awakening should end with poop on their hands.
Smolotov jokes because the alternative is screaming. They’re on the side of free press, fair elections, and dogs—the only fully trustworthy constituency left in America. Their bags are one small way to stand against politicians and their patron oligarchs, data centers, surveillance cameras, and the whole gilded menagerie.
Disguise critique as convenience with the only pet waste bag with a view: they’re the rare stocking stuffer that says exactly what you've been thinking.
