Scenes of the City: Cal Bears at AT&T Park

This for week's Scenes of the City we hung out inside and outside of AT&T Park for a couple odd events. One was the aforementioned Cal Bears football team playing in the park (they will be playing most of their home games there because of renovations to their home field). The other is the first-ever water polo match in McCovey Cove. As part of effort to garner support for their sport, the UC Berkeley Alumni Water Polo team vs. The Olympic Club Water Polo team played a match in the somewhat frigid waters of the bay.

The Cal Bears and coach Jeff Tedford enter the field through a haze of smoke.

Two of the ten letters in C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A react to an officials call on the field.

One of the most lopsided games we had ever been to, the Cal Bears trounced Presbyterian 63-12.

Onlookers watch the water polo match in McCovey Cove in the hour before the games started in AT&T Park.

Cheerleaders keep the crowd chanting on one of the many Cal touchdowns.

Wide Receiver Marvin Jones catch a pass and heads toward the end zone.

It was a good day to be a bear.

Quarterback Zach Maynard backs up to make a pass.

The crowd outside of the stadium cheers on the water polo teams.

In the end both the Cal water polo team and the Cal football team won their matches, although the water polo match was a bit closer and actually came down to a shoot out.
