Teabox founder Kaushal Dugar grew up wandering the tea gardens of Darjeeling with his father. As a kid, he saw tea workers as magicians, transforming mere leaves into beautiful beverages. That magic is what has inspired him to focus all of his efforts into making the world's best tea. Here are two of Dugar's magical tea recipes you have to try before the summer's over.
The Perfect Chai
This summer in San Francisco has brought temperatures in the low 50s and woolen layers of fog. For days like these, Teabox has the perfect cup of spicy, warm, aromatic chai to keep your hands toasty and your taste buds happy.
What you'll need:
1-2 teaspoons of Assam Masala Chai
¾ cup water
½ cup milk (whole milk or 2 percent)
Sugar (as desired)
Crushed spices such as cinnamon, cardamom and ginger
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add 1 teaspoon of the Assam Masala tea. (Double it for a stronger cup.)
- Allow the tea to simmer on the stove for 2 minutes before adding milk. Opt for whole or 2 percent milk for a smoother, creamier chai.
- Add sugar as you desire.
- Simmer the tea/milk concoction for another 2 minutes.
- Add crushed cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger to spice it up.
- Serve and enjoy!
Iced Strawberry Spritzers

4 teaspoons of Teabox Strawberry Spritz iced tea
1 1/4 cups of water
1/3 cup of white rum or vodka (whichever you prefer)
Sugar or honey (as desired)
1 cup of ice
For garnish: Diced strawberries and limes
- Bring water to a boil.
- Once it's ready, spoon 4 tsp of the iced tea blend into the hot water.

- Discard the infused leaves as soon as the 4 minutes is up to avoid over-steeping.
- For sweeter tea, add sugar and honey while the tea is still hot.

- In a pitcher, mix the tea with either white rum or vodka; stir.
- To serve, fill a glass with ice before pouring the tea.
