A big bummer for Sic Alps fans...the prolific SF band announced their breakup in a Berlin concert this month, pretty much right after they released their She's On Top EP. [via Pitchfork]


On the national scene, SF's own Mikal Cronin did his thing on Conan this week! This dude's fianlly getting the kind of widespread exposure he deserves. [via The Bay Bridged]

The Noise Pop folks announced a free fest celebrating the vibrancy of the 20th Street corridor in the Mission. Called the 20th Street Block Party, it features music from Two Gallants, Mac DeMarco, and Quinn Deveaux & The Blue Beat Review. On the food front, expect to snag bites from 'hood faves like Central Kitchen, Blowfish Sushi, Coffee Bar, and Rhea's Deli. It all goes down Auguat 24th. [via email PR land]

Yoodoo Park, the mind behind GRMLN, dropped a video for his song "Teenage Rhythm," which definitely has a "school's out" vibe...except instead of teenagers, it features old people acting like teenagers. It still jives with our current no rules summertime attitude, nonetheless. [via The Bay Bridged]

As predicted, Outside Lands' regular tickets sold out this week. If you were lucky enough to grab one, you're eligible to attend one of their night shows sprinkled around the city. That set of artists was announced recently as well, and features Yeasayer, Smith Westerns, The Growlers, and many more. [via SF Weekly]
