What are you up to this weekend, bike lovers? Easy answer: Tour de Fat. New Belgium Brewery’s fifteen-city bike and beer carnival’s tour returns to San Francisco this Saturday. And it looks to be bigger, better and more bike and beer-filled than ever.
Among the most impressive additions to the traveling two-wheeled rodeo are headlining band Los Amigos Invisibles. The Venezuelan funk, disco, acid-jazz band top the bill at the free festival and might be enough to get people off the wacky bikes and onto the dance floor. L.A. Western swing band He’s My Brother, She’s My Sister also take to the stage at the bike festival
Plus, The Moth real life reading series (yup, the one Ira Glass is always talking about) will be hosting a special pedal-centric performance. Also new this year: the “whiskeydrome,” a tiny wooden velodrome you and your friends can race around.
And there’s the tried and true of every year: Wacky bikes and beer galore. The all day party is free and proceeds from beer go to support local bike advocacy—so you can feel good about yourself for ordering another beer.
See you and your pedal-loving friends and family (it’s all ages) at Lindley Meadow from 10-5 pm on Saturday.
