Viral you tubery made an overnight hit of “Prop 8 the Musical” – the Funny Or Die video that received more than 1.2 million hits on its first day out. The Neil Patrick Harris fronted song and dance revealed how totally silly homosexual panic is and put the Jesus argument in its place. But as the website says the video was” Conceived and Written (six weeks later than he shoulda) by Marc Shaiman.”

Shaiman admitted that he was preoccupied with Obama feel-good-ism and only made the video after the election, when it was far too late.

He told the New York Times “Barack Obama’s ascension just had us all so giddy. We were thinking of how to film it, and I said, “Well, maybe that first section should be all of us on a hill, with poppies, and it snows and we’re put to sleep, and then the Proposition 8 people are looking through the crystal ball, like the Wicked Witch of the West in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’”

“Because that’s what happened. We stupidly allowed ourselves to be lulled into a sense of, everything’s fantastic now, look – everything’s changing. And this couldn’t possibly be voted into law. This is just like some little pesky thing that we’re swatting at, and it will go away immediately.”

On March 5, The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments as to the constitutionality of Prop 8 with Ken ($70 Mil of your taxpayer dollars to impeach Clinton) Starr heading the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund – ( i.e. the group bent on proving that denying gay Californians equal protection sure is heck is constitutional.)
