Because we all know that art imitates life—and because we all know what it’s like to suffer through living with a nightmare roommate—it makes perfect sense that we’d all be interested in seeing a theatrical production about just such a topic. Piano Fight Productions presents the SF premier of Roommate Wanted on July 20 (it runs through July 28), which stars the lovely and talented Nina Weiss (who also happens to be a 7x7 editorial assistant alum). Staged at Off-Market Theatre, it’s all about seven twenty-something urbanites—one of whom is completely mental—and the cohabitation hijinks that ensue. Think Friends with a twist of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Bringing your own refreshments is encouraged, but if you bring your own glass, don’t forget to put it in the dishwasher when you get home (or risk waking to a passive-aggressive post-it courtesy of your not-so-fictional housemate).
