When: 6:00pm to 7:15pm

Where: 110 The Embarcadero (Embarcadero), commonwealthclub.org

Why: Start off your workweek with an empowering, enlightening, open-hearted fireside chat with Budd MacKenzie, as he discusses his work with women, children and the needy in war-torn Afghanistan. He will also limelight about what we can do to effectively help those who we may not know—but are an ocean's-length away. Tickets ($20) can be bought on Eventbrite; if you're a student or a member of the Commonwealth Club, the talk is free to attend.

When: 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Where: Union Square, airbnb.com

Why: Come this Tuesday evening at Union Square, join a gaggle of other biophilic creatives and create an LED flash mob in an ode to everyone's favorite saline invertebrate—the jellyfish.
