7 Very Virgin America Reasons to Love SFO's New Terminal 2

By

WIRED magazine once called Virgin America planes "multi-million dollar iPods that fly" -- a comparison that's even more appropriate now that the hometown airline of Apple-lovin' San Francisco has moved into SFO's Terminal 2. Virgin America will occupy seven gates at T2 (which has its opening ceremony this weekend) and collaborated closely with Gensler and Turner Construction on the design and concept from the early stages. Virgin America's always been a cut above the rest in tech-friendliness, sustainable practices (their planes are 25% more fuel efficient than others in the sky) and food services, experiences they have extended from plane to terminal in the new T2. Here are 7 Very Virgin America Reasons to Love SFO's Terminal 2.

1. Working travelers can log on at lap top work tables, plug-in stations and elevated work counters and enjoy free wireless throughout the terminal.

2. "Hydration" stations allow you to fill up water bottles, rather than buying bottled water

3. Hybrid vehicles get preferential parking

4. There's a Pinkberry

5. It's the first airport dining program in the country to recruit Slow Food vendors.

6. It's slated to be the first LEED Gold Certified airport terminal in the U.S.

7. Similar to Virgin America's signature cabin music, moodlighting, seating, and design, T2's "Recompose" zone will create a stress-reducing oasis for travelers post-security.

Virgin America's toasting the opening of T2 and the next generation of air travel by offering flights from only *$59 each way from SFO. Book by April 8, and fly from April 20 through June 8, or from August 24 through October 27. here.
