Eames Movie Night
Calling all design enthusiasts—reserve your seat on an Eames chair for Wednesday's screening of the new documentary Eames: The Architect and the Painter. The film tells of the lives of designers Charles and Ray Eames in a feast for the eyes and ears (it's narrated by James Franco). Former editor-in-chief of Dwell, Sam Grawe, provides an intro before the show. RSVP to rsvp@zincdetails.com.
When: 6 p.m., Wed. 1/25
Where: Zinc Details, 1905 Fillmore St.

Screening
British Arrows Awards
If you're an Anglophile, here's one for your calendar. The British Arrows Awards (formerly known as the British Television Advertising Awards) has always been one of YBCA's most popular programs. Check out this year's batch of cheeky commercials, PSAs, and social networking experiments that are much more creative than what we see at home. Note: They're doling out Walkers shortbread twin packs to audience members while supplies last.
When: Thurs. 1/26 - Sun. 1/29
Where: YBCA Screening Room, 701 Mission St.

Fundraiser
Science of Cocktails
For the third year in a row, Exploratorium has turned its annual fundraising event into a grand 'ole time. Learn the physics, chemistry, and biology about everything from alcohol's components and cocktail creation to inebriation and the dreaded hangover—all while sipping a martini, of course. SF's best mixers—Bloodhound's Brandon Josie, Ricky Paiva and Russell Davis of Rickhouse, former Rye bartender Doug Williams—will face off in a fierce cocktail competition. Don't miss it. And while you're there, check out Rafael Landea’s “Maps of Silence” multimedia installation in the museum's West Gallery.
When: 7:30 p.m., Thurs. 1/26
Where: Exploratorium, 3601 Lyon St.

Art
"Andy Warhol: Polaroids / MATRIX 240"
Everyone knows Warhol's famous silkscreens, but the Polaroids and black-and-white photos that oft served as the basis for his commissioned works have, for the most part, remained buried in archives. As part of a larger program to expose these works to the public, BAM/PFA has received more than 150 prints that will be on view through May.
When: Fri. 1/27 - Sun. 5/20
Where: Berkeley Art Museum, 2626 Bancroft Way, Berkeley

Runway

This weekend, the SF Bay Area Fashion Network presents its third annual fashion show notorious for enforcing an all-white dress code. Designers Cana Klebanoff, Cari Borja, Herbert Williamson, Joseph Domingo, Julie Schindler and Violetta Vieux will show 6 looks from their all-white collections.
When: 7:30 p.m., Sat. 1/28
Where: 180 Shipley St.
