Just in case you missed her set at Hardly Strictly, Patti Smith is staying in SF for one more concert. Dubbed as one of the most influential female musicians of all time, Smith's unique fusion of poetical rock-and-roll always makes for a great show.

"The Radical Camera"
The vintage photographs in "The Radical Camera: New York's Photo League, 1936-1951" tell the story of NYC street life in the shadow of turbulent times—from the Great Depression to the Cold War—through the eyes of mostly first-generation Jewish-Americans. Look for works by Aaron Siskind, Bernice Abbott, and Weegee.

Rebecca Solnit in Conversation with Fire Chief Joanne Hayes
Author of A Paradise Built in Hell: The Extraordinary Communities that Arise in Disaster, Rebecca Sonlit, will engage in a conversation with San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes to discuss disaster, democracy, and community. The event is part of the SF Public Library's One City One Book 2012 program.

"Fiber Futures"
After 30 years, the Museum of Craft and Folk Art (MOCFA) will close its doors this December. Their last exhibition, "Fiber Futures," explores a new style of Japanese textile art. A collaboration of 30 cutting-edge Japanese artists, the fiber-art movement uses materials that range from silk, cotton, and jute to hemp and stainless steel.

Nathalie Djurberg
Nathalie Djurberg is flying high in San Francisco this month. The Swedish artist is creatively incorporating her interest of birds into her new art exhibit at the YBCA, which features 80 freestanding bird sculptures, five animated films, and clay animations, the latter of which are set to music and are used to depict human emotions of jealousy, revenge, lust, and gluttony.

Thee Oh Sees, Sic Alps, and Sonny Smith
Don't miss out on the psychedelic rocking of Thee Oh Sees. Comprised of veteran rocker John Dwyer and company, the band is known for their garage-rooted rock-n-roll and over-the-top vocals. Joined by locals Sic Alps and Sonny Smith, its' a night of varied SF flavor.

SF Open Studios
Who says artists have to starve? Over four consecutive weekends, SF Open Studios connects collectors with more than 900 creators—from Pep Ventosa to Paul Madonna—by opening the doors to artists' own workspaces. Weekend one kicks off in these hoods: Fort Mason, Marina, Pacific Heights, Russian Hill, North Beach, Duboce, Hayes Valley, Haight, Upper Market, Ocean Beach, Sunset, Richmond, Diamond Heights, Buena Vista, Twin Peeks, West Portal, Glen Park, and Excelsior. This is your chance to feed the local arts.

More laid back than Outside Lands, the Treasure Island Music Festival still promises stellar talent. On Saturday, check out Grimes, Toro y Moi, and SBTRKT. Or if you must pick just one day, Sunday's lineup, which indues Youth Lagoon, Joanna Newsom, and Gossip, gets our vote.
