1.  Waste Wise Market Celebration at the Ferry Building
Head down to the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22 to celebrate the Waste Wise stations that help market-goers recycle, compost and reuse. Don’t forget to check out the information tables and the reusable bag giveaway.

2.  “Composing Biology” at Swell Gallery
Witness the intersection of art and science at this group show that visually grapples with questions about biotechnology and its effect on our culture.

3.  Earth Day Extravaganza and Open House at SF Center for the Book
Come to this family-friendly Earth Day event to letterpress a print, bind a book, make eco-conscious postcards and learn more about the impact of the environment on book arts. Also bring along old batteries and florescent lightbulbs for environmentally friendly disposal.

4. “Riprap in Bronze” at the Haines Gallery

5.  Silent Running Screening at SF State University
Catch this sci-fi classic at a special Earth Day afternoon showing, sponsored by Friends of the Greenhouse, which also features a screening of the documentary The Making of Silent Running.

6.  Green Pubs Initiative at the Casanova Lounge
