This Week's Hottest Events: Sketchfest, Norm MacDonald, The Fresh & Onlys

Aziz Ansari's show at Punch Line tonight is sold out. Boo. Lucky for us, there's no shortage of equally cool comedy happening this week.

Comedy: SF Sketchfest
This year's Sketchfest has really pulled out all the stops for its 10th anniversary. The lineup is a laundry list of who's who in the comedy world, including Dan Aykroyd, Candice Bergen, Will Forte, Neil Patrick Harris, and more. Check out our preview blog here and get at least one of these events on your calendar now. Prices vary; Thursday, 1/13 - Saturday 2/5; Various Venues, sfsketchfest.com

Theater: The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs
We've all wondered what makes Steve Jobs tick (especially now with the mysterious freeze on vacation time for Apple employees), but few have had the gall to tackle the subject—onstage in front of a live audience no less. This one-man show by master storyteller Mike Daisey at Berkeley Rep will expose the psyche of Apple's enigmatic CEO, complete with a trip to a Chinese factory where workers crank out iToys. $29-$43; Tuesday 1/11 - Sunday, 2/27; Cobb's Comedy Club, 2025 Addison St., Berkeley, berkeleyrep.org

Comedy: Mortified
Mortified just never seems to get old. If it's been awhile or you're just looking to come down from the week, get your tickets to the show. Where else can you see real-life strangers sharing straight from their most personal places—teen journals, unanswered love letters and angst-written artifacts? It's the one night when you can acceptably delight in other people's pain, misery and utter humiliation. $12-$15; Friday, 1/14 - Saturday, 1/15; Make-Out Room, 3225 22nd St., 415-647-2888, getmortified.com

Comedy: Norm MacDonald
SNL alum Norm MacDonald (aka "the fake news" guy) will be doing a live taping of his Comedy Central special at the Fillmore this Friday and there are still tickets available. It's not like we live in NY or L.A. where live tapings are a dime a dozen, so cash in on your chance to see this comedy heavyweight live in a non-stand-up setting. $35; Friday 1/14, 7:30 and 10 pm shows; The Fillmore, 1805 Geary Blvd., livenation.com

Music: The Fresh & Onlys, Blank Tapes, Rebelution
Saturday is a big night for local music, so choose wisely. Local music sensations The Fresh & Onlys and Magic Bullets share the stage at Slim's with San Diego dance/punk/rock duo Crocodiles, who Rolling Stone has been hyping since the release of their debut album last year. $15; 333 11th St., slims-sf.com. Set to release three albums this year, SF-based indie rocksters Blank Tapes will share the stage with rock and countrified soul singer/songwriter Nicki Bluhm at Cafe Du Nord. $10-$12; 2170 Market St., cafedunord.com. Let reggae warm you during these cold winter months—Hawaii's Iration and Santa Barbara's Rebelution will heat up the Fox as part of their Winter Greens Tour. $20; 1807 Telegraph Ave., thefoxoakland.com
