Burritt Room Guide to 2014 drinking resolutions

The Charlie Palmer Restaurant Group has published the Burritt Room Guide to 2014 - a list of drinking resolutions. They are kicking off January with the Berlinetta cocktail: bourbon, Cynar, carpano antic, and prince blood orange bitters ($12). Rise for Hope: Fundraiser to Benefit Victims of Typhoon Haiyan

Pastry Chef Francis Ang and his Fifth Floor family are having a fundraiser to benefit the victims of the recent Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) that hit the Philippines. Francis and his wife saw the devastation first hand and are throwing a spectacular cocktail party to benefit Habitat for Humanity and the victims of this devastating event. Enjoy Filipino-inspired food and cocktails while feeling good about getting your drink on. #riseforhope 6 - 9 p.m, Sunday, January 5, 2014, Fifth Floor, 12 4th Street.

La Urbana Launches Happy Hour in Garage Urbano

La Urbana's annex bar announces a  new Tuesday - Saturday happy hour menu. The Garage Urbano touts cocktails from the La Urbana bar as well as their own menu that will rotate weekly. Their sample menu includes Tacos Chicharron de Pollo (3 to an order) Plato de frutas Pepinas con limon, Jicama y chile, tequila margaritas, sangria, and bottled beers. 661 Divisadero Street (entrance on Grove Street); Tuesdays through Saturdays from 4 - 6 p.m. La Urbana is open daily from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m

Local SF Beverages Aplenty at Aurea Lounge

Stanford Court hotel, under new management, is launching a bevy of locally-sourced beverages in the Aurea Lounge, featuring craft brews, regional wines, and Hangar 1 Vodka and St. George Spirits on tap. Hangar 1 has devised a menu of handcrafted SF-inspired cocktails, designed exclusively for Aurea, that use seasonal and local ingredients. Highlights include the Golden Spike (Hangar 1 Buddha’s Hand Citron, St. Germain, Cointreau, lemon juice, mint leaf) and the Pagoda Alley (Hanger 1 Mandarin Blossom, Galliano, orange juice, cherry), among other libations. Situated atop Nob Hill at 905 California Street, the Aurea Lounge is open daily from 5pm – 12am, and is located in the Stanford Court Hotel’s lobby.
