This Saturday, get out and break a sweat while helping beat lung cancer. Jog For Jill is a 5K run on the UC Berkeley campus in honor of Jill Costello, a championship winning coxswain and UC Berkeley student who passed away at age 22 from lung cancer. Sign up for the race here, and help raise awareness, as well as money for research. The race begins at 11 am at Kroeber fountain on the UC Berkeley Campus.

The Annual Piedmont Church Treasures Sale

Each year, a huge group of affluent Piedmont parents get together, pool theirunwanted treasures together, and host a garage sale to send their kids on a home-building mission to Mexico for families in need. It's a bargain hunter's paradise, and you can rest easy knowing your dollars are going to purchase building materials and offset travel expenses for these charitable kids. Expect goodies such as furniture, books, linens, house wares, jewelry, toys, crafts, fashion accessories, china, bikes, and antique and vintage items! Come by Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am to 4 pm. The Piedmont Community Church, 400 Highland Avenue, Piedmont.

International Women's Day Panel

Sunday is International Women's Day and International House is hosting a speaker series on closing gender gaps. Speakers include State Assembly Representative Nancy Skinner and UC Berkeley Professor Nancy Lemon. Refreshments and registration begin at 1:45 pm on Sunday. The event is free but donations are welcome. @ 2299 Piedmont Ave., Berkeley

Bike Repair Class

Learn how to take care of your bike, from adjusting your brakes, to maintaining your headsets and hubs. Bring your own bike and learn from experts about the best way to keep your two wheels in tip-top shape. Hosted by Berkeley REI and The Park Tool School, this class is $130.00 and goes from 10 am to 6 pm.
