Nothing says 'I mean business' like using a cart at the liquor store.

Beer and Bicycles at CykelScramble

We don't generally recommend mixing beer and bicycling, but we're making an exception for this Saturday's CykelScramble at Marin County Fairgrounds. The bike relay race and festival features live bands, food trucks, a beer garden, and a mixed-terrain bike relay race that you can watch while you drink. Ten 4-person teams will compete in four categories for a year's supply of CLIF Bars. There's plenty of free parking on site, as well as complimentary valet bicycle parking for the VIPs (Very Important Pedalers). CykelScramble is free and family friendly and runs from 11:30am to 7:30pm. // 10 Avenue of the Flags, San Rafael, CykelScramble.com

Press Club Brings the Harvest to the City

You could drive hundreds of miles to check out California's latest, greatest wines, or you could simply take Muni to Press Club this Sunday at 2pm to celebrate the beginning of harvest season with 16 California wineries from Santa Barbara to the Sonoma Coast. For a paltry $30, you'll get three hours of tastings with wineries such as Paradigm, Fort Ross, La Fenetre and Caraccioli. No driving required. Tickets are available online. // 20 Yerba Buena Lane, PressClubSF.com

2 for 1 Pisco Specials at La Mar

La Mar is turning seven on Monday, and they're celebrating with a pair of Pisco specials. The Peruvian cebicheria will be serving 2 for 1 Pisco Sours and Pisco Punches all day in the bar, regularly $12 and $13 each. In the dining room, you'll find a selection of weekly specials, including Sudado ($39), a grilled whole rockfish fillet served over a rice and green pea stew with sudado broth and squash salad. La Mar is open daily for lunch (11:30am to 2:30pm) and dinner (5:30pm to 9:30pm). // Pier 1.5, the Embarcadero, LaMarSF.com

 Pumpkin Fizz at Palm House

Pumpkin season is upon us, which means local chefs, brewers and bartenders will be sneaking pumpkin into our dinner, beer, and cocktails before we know it. Palm House has already gotten a jump on the competition by releasing the Pumpkin Fizz ($12), a dessert-like cocktail made with Snow Leopard vodka, lemon juice, cinnamon syrup, half & half, egg white and pumpkin butter. It's available through the end of October. // 2032 Union Street, PalmHouseSF.com

 Oakland Launches Urban Wine Trail

Did you know there are 10 wineries inside the city limits of Oakland? Neither did we, until we followed the Oakland Urban Wine Trail, which just launched last week to coincide with California Wine Month. Download a brochure and map to plan your wine tasting walk around Oakland, or just follow street decals throughout the city to find the closest tasting room. Participating wineries include Campovida, Cerruti Cellars, Dashe Cellars, Irish Monkey Cellars, Jeff Cohn Cellars, Periscope Cellars, Rosenblum Cellars, Stage Left Cellars, Two Mile Wines, and Urban Legend. // OaklandUrbanWineTrail.com
